Community Catalyst Uganda’s three action tracks, alongside 2 special project areas, reflect a deep commitment to a community foundation model where initiatives are determined by local needs. This structure ensures a holistic, community-driven approach, directly addressing the distinct requirements of various demographic groups and remaining responsive to emerging challenges, thereby guaranteeing the organization’s relevance and impact.
Special Priorities

Menstruation, a natural and vital part of life, can often become a barrier to opportunity, dignity, and well-being, particularly for women and girls in Uganda. Our P.O.W.E.R. (Period Opportunities With Equity and Resources) is a dedicated initiative designed to dismantle these barriers and ensure that period health is a foundation for empowerment, not an obstacle.
P.O.W.E.R. is about more than just managing periods; it’s about unlocking the full potential of women and girls. By ensuring access to information, resources, and supportive environments, we are enabling them to participate fully in education, work, and community life with dignity and without limitation.
We believe that period health is a fundamental right and a crucial element in building a more equitable and empowered Uganda for all.

The Janet Ayio Education Fund aims to dismantle the barriers to quality education faced by boys and girls in the West Nile region. Recognizing the unique challenges of this area, we are committed to providing scholarships, educational resources, and mentorship to promising students from underserved communities.
This fund prioritises supporting learners, at every level of education, who demonstrate academic potential and a strong commitment to their community, with a focus on promoting gender equity and ensuring that every child, regardless of their sex and background, has the opportunity to achieve their educational aspirations and contribute to the development of West Nile and the country at large.
Community Voices
”We are really thankful for Community Catalyst Uganda’s support to our pupils…it has greatly improved their academic performance…those crying for books, pens and other scholastic materials are no longer doing so…those who could not revise at home because of no power can now do so because of the bags with solar light they were given…” – Opio Bosco, Head Master, PBCCS, Kwio Akuru, Pakwach.
